Apolo is a group project I worked on at uni. It is an interactive online social music streaming website. The site will be dedicated to having an interactive community, with strong focus on sharing, discovering and listening to music with friends.

Apolo will consist of different online chat rooms called “Clubs”, where users can choose to join in and listen live with everyone in the room.

Users can link music from Youtube to share with everyone, additionally apolo features a rating system and trending tab.

Design Process

The Website is a full stack webapp built using HTML, CSS and JavaScript for responsive design. The website has a database hosted on MySQL and uses JavaScript, mainly, to write the content to minimize loading interruptions.

There are several API's in use, such as the youtube API, used to display and style the youtube video.

We also made use of socket.io to link the videos, create the rating system and live chat.
